RCM Thermal Kinetics Hosts Second Annual Kid’s Day STEM Event

Let’s Have a Moment of Science

Amherst, NY – July 10, 2025 – On July 30, RCM Thermal Kinetics will host its second annual Kid’s Day, a private science and engineering celebration for the families and friends of employees. This feel-good, STEM-forward event brings 30 kids and 20 adults to the company’s Buffalo-based innovation lab. It promises a day of fun, learning, and curiosity-driven discovery.

Following the success of 2024’s inaugural event, Kid’s Day 2025 promises even more hands-on experiments and interactive activities. There will be engaging lessons in chemical engineering and process science. These are led by RCM’s team of real engineers and technical staff.

What Exactly is Kid’s Day?

Each child receives their own lab coat, notebook, and pen to become an honorary “junior engineer” for the day. From there, they rotate through four hands-on science and engineering stations. These are guided by RCM’s real-life engineers and technicians. With stations ranging from chemical reactions to process demonstrations, the day sparks imagination and builds a bridge between STEM careers and early curiosity.

“Kid’s Day is one of the most meaningful things we do all year,” said David Loschiavo, General Manager at RCM Thermal Kinetics. “We work on world-class engineering projects every day, and this is our chance to share that spirit of innovation with the next generation—and their families.”

RCM Thermal Kinetics, headquartered in Amherst, NY, is known for delivering large-scale, energy-efficient process systems for industries like ethanol, chemical, and renewable fuels. But from the outside, its modest office and lab space might go unnoticed.

“That’s part of why Kid’s Day matters,” added David. “It’s a reminder that something exciting is happening right here in Western New York—something innovative, technical, and creative.”
